Yr 13 Leadership Talks

Prefect Leadership Training 

In the Autumn term, the Year 13 Prefects, including the Head Boy and Head Girl, attended leadership training sessions delivered by members of Kingsbury High School’s Senior Team. The presenters included Alex Thomas (Headteacher), Anton Mclean (Deputy Headteacher) and Mahesh Vadgama (Director of Finance and Resources). As a part of the training, students were encouraged to reflect upon their leadership styles. Then they explored how to create a vision for a team and foster a team culture. In Mr Vadgama's session, the students engaged in practical team-building activities, such as building a paper tower and aeroplane, in groups. Students had to navigate planning, decision making and problem solving, collaboratively. This enabled them to learn how to work efficiently, as part of a team. The students spoke positively about the sessions, and shared that they look forward to putting their newly acquired leadership skills into practice.
