Year 10 Sixth Form Experience Day

Year 10 Sixth Form Experience Day
10th Jul 2026

A group of high-attaining Year 10 students recently experienced a taste of Sixth Form life, diving into advanced concepts designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking. Students threw themselves into fast-paced, A-Level standard taster sessions across a range of subjects. In Psychology, they grappled with Freud’s personality theories of the Id, Ego, and Superego. In Politics they analysed complex voting patterns and in Economics they stepped into the shoes of a hospital board to debate the ethical and financial prioritisation of healthcare funding. They also explored the science of energy through exciting practical experiments in Chemistry. In the Higher Sports Leadership session, they learned how to design and adapt games to suit younger students of varying abilities. Students were also given talks on Post-16 options and a Wellbeing Session led by the KS5 Wellbeing Lead. Students enjoyed exploring our Sixth Form facilities, meeting key Sixth Form Staff and wrapping up an inspiring morning with a well-earned pizza lunch. We hope this sneak peek has left them excited for the brilliant opportunities that await them!
