This year's Year 10 Humanities Essay Competition winner was Bianca P who wrote an outstanding Religious Studies and Philosophy essay on the prompt: ‘‘Blasphemy should be made illegal in the UK" Discuss. Bianca wrote a thoroughly impressive essay, evidenced by changes and development over time. She had clearly given her answer an enormous amount of careful thought and the end product was a balanced essay that explored the issue from multiple angles and arrived at a supported conclusion. We wish her well building upon her successes as a thinker and writer in the future.
We also congratulate Harshil M (2nd) and Yasmin B (3rd) for their excellent submissions this year. Yasmin was a runner up in the Year 8 essay competition so it was fantastic to see she has continued to grow as a writer! Both offered clarity and precision in their argumentation and demonstrated excellent understanding of their subject areas. Harshil made particularly effective use of counter arguments. We also had a number of runners up including: Deyshia C, Emaan B, Vahini V, Fatima A, Razan A and Chenuki N.
Well done to everyone who took part!
