Excel Days
16th Nov 2023

Excel Days are an important part of our Personal Development curriculum and take place three times a year. Our most recent Excel Day saw students enjoying a variety of trips and workshops.

Year 7

Year 7 spent a day visiting famous landmarks in London such as the Cutty Sark and Cable Cars. They learnt how to safely use the underground and navigate their way around London.

Year 8

Year 8 spent a day on the First Give Charity Project. They learnt about various local charities and presented in front of others why their charity should be selected. We are now going to hold the final in December where one group will win £1000 for their charity.

Year 9

Year 9 spent a day on various workshops which included a theatrical performance from Tip of the Iceberg on addiction and its consequences. The other workshops were based on health education and first aid.

Year 10

Year 10 spent a day working on the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge which was all to do with public speaking. We have now selected one winner who will represent the school in the borough championships which will take place in January.

Year 11

Year 11 spent a day working on a variety of workshops, which were all delivered by external agencies. These included revision and study skills, topics on extremism, online hate and misogyny.

Year 12

Year 12 had a Health and Wellbeing Day where they chose the activities they wanted to take part in which may have included physical or mental based activities. They also had an external speaker from Stand Up deliver to them.

Year 13

Year 13 spent the day looking at life beyond the 6th form. Workshops included looking at university, apprenticeships and work options. There was an external speaker that spoke to them about finance.
