Earth Day Celebration

Earth Day Celebration
24th Apr 2024

The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970, when a United States senator organized a national demonstration to raise awareness about environmental issues. That’s why each year on the 22nd April, more than a billion people celebrate Earth Day to protect the planet from things like pollution and deforestation. And that’s what we did at KHS! All students across the school had a short eco-activity for each lesson and learnt about an Earth Day fact like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch that contains 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic! We finished the day in style by completing a community litter pick in Roe Green Park with some very enthusiastic students.
