Ex-Student Simon Brown Competes in the Paralympics
11th Sep 2024

The first week of school we were all very excited to be supporting our ex-student Simon Brown in the Paralympics. Paris was Simon’s third Paralympics after earning his first ParalympicsGB cap at Beijing 2008, where he earned a bronze medal.

He missed London 2012 but returned for Rio 2016 to help the team win another bronze medal in a dramatic overtime thriller against Turkey.

At Paris 2024, Simon was part of the Wheelchair Basketball team that achieved the nation’s best result in the sport in 28 years by claiming second place and the silver medal. In a pulsating final, ParalympicsGB fought back from 12 points down but succumbed to 73-69 defeat to Team USA.

We are so proud of Simon's achievements and bringing back a Silver medal and he has been an inspiration to all students for the start of the New Year.
