We are delighted to announce that four of our talented 6th form learners took part in the prestigious UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Maths Olympiad for Girls. This highly competitive event provides an excellent opportunity for young women to showcase their mathematical abilities and gain valuable experience in problem-solving at a national level.
The Maths Olympiad for Girls is designed to encourage and inspire more female students to engage with advanced mathematical concepts. Our students — Meetraa Kunduzi, Alexandra Lupu, Paba Malawwethanthri and Maya Moalem — have not only embraced the challenge but have also demonstrated their dedication and passion for mathematics.
A Remarkable Achievement
Entering the UKMT Maths Olympiad is an achievement in itself. The exam tests a wide range of problem-solving skills and requires a deep understanding of mathematical theories and techniques. Our learners dedicated significant time and effort to preparing for the competition, showing determination and a strong work ethic throughout the process.
Supporting Girls in Maths
Participating in national competitions like this is a testament to our school's commitment to encouraging girls to pursue mathematics at higher levels. We are incredibly proud of our students' accomplishments and the way they represented the school in such a prestigious event. They serve as role models, demonstrating to younger students that maths can be both challenging and rewarding.
Looking Forward
We hope this experience motivates more students, particularly girls, to take part in future maths challenges and competitions. As a school, we remain dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where all learners can thrive in their mathematical studies.
Once again, we congratulate our four 6th form learners on their participation and look forward to their continued success in the world of mathematics.Really pleased to share that we have been awarded the Leadership Skills Foundation 'Centre of Excellence' status for 2024/25! This is only given to the top 1-2% of centres providing leadership courses across the country.
