This year we saw the annual Kingsbury High School Sports Day take place on Friday 27th June.
Each form group across the years 7-9 competed to get the most points for their form in their activities, where the points then got added together with the points from each year group of their same form group letter, amounting to 'House Points'.
Year 10 had their own sports day with their points also being added to the year 7-9 scores. The winning groups will have their house letter engraved on a shield which will be brought out again every year for form groups to fight for!
There were a range of activities for every student to get involved in from Athletics events: Track long and short distance running, jumping the Long Jump and throwing Shot Put; team games such as Capture the Flag, Tug of War, Volleyball; and individual tasks from Go Kart relays, Netball Shoot Outs to Archery and even some other Kingsbury Challenge relays. With over 1000 students and over 120 staff, the competition was high!
With so many opportunities for students to earn points, there was a huge buzz of positivity all around the school with Mr Leyden on the minibus as our very own MC and Mr Windrich on DJ and photos. It is always a much anticipated event and we hope the sun continues to shine for us to do even more next year. A huge thank you to this years sports leaders and Year 11 pupils on summer break who came to help set up, pack and down and run the events, as well as all the form tutors who have helped to make this an exciting event.
Thank you to this year's sports day team: Ms G Vekaria, Ms A Vekaria, Mr Mohamed Ali and Mr Zulfiqar.
