Sports Leaders

All students have the opportunity to complete an 'Introduction to Leadership' course in year 11 and the Sports Leaders UK Level 3 Award in Sixth Form.

The Level 3 Award provides additional skills and experience for those wanting to deliver sport and recreational activities to a variety of community groups, such as older people, children and people with disabilities. The syllabus includes a detailed understanding and delivery of sports leadership, leading sessions to improve fitness and experience of planning and delivering a sporting event.

Very few centres offer the Level 3 Award, so we are very proud of our provision and success rate. We also recently received the 'Leadership Academy of the Year' award from Sports Leaders UK for London and the South East of England.

Undertaking this award gives students a platform to demonstrate commitment and leadership which are key to future opportunities and employment. One of our recent success stories is Abhishna Yogarajan - who since completing the course has gone on to become the Chair of the Youth Board for the Youth Sport Trust.
